MeJo Wiggins began her extensive Pilates training with Master Teacher Romana Kryzanowska in 1990, and began teaching in 1995 at Drago's Gym in NYC. Today, with over 20 years of experience, and certified by Romana as a Teacher Trainer, she is a full-fledged Pilates guru with an international reputation.
Considered in the industry as "Romana's Protégé", MeJo is recognized as one of the leading Teacher Trainers and master practitioners in the world. She has earned many television appearances and is a featured artist in both the "Romana's Pilates - Mat" DVD series and "The Legacy" DVD series. She also produced her own DVD, "20 Minutes, Twice a Week", a full intermediate mat workout in real time for students already familiar with Classical Pilates.
Since her Teacher Trainer Certification from Romana in 2003, MeJo has been sought after by teachers, studios, and fitness experts throughout the US, Europe, and Russia for her seminars and personal demonstrations of the Classical Pilates Method. She has taught at some of the most prestigious events in the fitness industry including the Olimpiski Sport Arena in Moscow (over 18,000 attended), and the Forum Sport Center in Rome, the largest fitness facility in all of Europe.
For 13 years MeJo owned and taught at her own studio (MeJo Wiggin, LLC.) which occupied two floors of a building in downtown Greenwich, CT. MeJo Wiggin, LLC. was the first Pilates studio to open in CT, and was written up in many publications. She taught many teachers, celebrities, professional athletes, and supermodels.
In addition, MeJo applied the Pilates Method to students suffering with various injuries and chronic pain. She quickly gained popularity in the medical field, and soon doctors from New York Hospital for Special Surgery were referring their patients to MeJo for rehabilitation.
Today MeJo is still a strong advocate and example of the Classical Pilates Method. She is featured on the website of Gratz Industries - the original manufacturer of Pilates apparatus. She closed her studio in 2008 to continue teaching seminars worldwide. When she's home in Greenwich, she still teaches private sessions, but her mission is to continue teaching seminars and educating Pilates instructors in the true classical method. www.mejowiggin.com
Dana Santi began studying the Pilates method in 1996 in Evanston, IL. She studied under the direction of Juanita Lopez and was certified by Romana Kryzanowska in 1998. After completing her certification, Dana instructed at and managed The Pilates Studio of The Midwest at Hubbard Street in Chicago, IL. In 2002, Dana opened The Pilates Core, Inc. in LaGrange, IL. Presently, Dana and her 12 instructors keep Pilates pure and true to its original form. She believes that keeping Pilates authentic is what makes The Pilates Core such a successful studio. Dana devotes much of her non-teaching time to studying and networking with other classically trained Pilates instructors. With their combined knowledge and expertise, Dana organizes workshops that bring authentic Pilates into her community. In 2004, Dana met and studied with Jay Grimes in Los Angeles, CA. That meeting changed Dana's life and she is honored to borrow every ounce of inspiration and wisdom that he can provide. www.thepilatescore.com
