Instructors Jay Grimes danced professionally, ballet and Broadway, for 18 years, and never had an injury. This he attributes entirely to Pilates. He began his studies with Joe Pilates in the mid-sixties, and after Joe’s death continued with Joe’s wife, Clara, for another 10 years until her death. Jay began teaching in the original 8th Ave studio in New York, then moved with the studio to 56th Street, where he taught alongside, as well as studied with, Romana Kryzanowska and John Winters. Over the years Jay’s clients have ranged from stars of Broadway and Hollywood, music and opera, to politicians, businessmen, housewives, and Olympic athletes. He currently provides ongoing training to instructors, conducting workshops and master classes around the world. www.jaygrimes.com
Kathryn Ross- Nash, certified in 1998 by Romana Kryzanowska, and trained by Edwina Fontaine and Kathy Grant, is a featured artist for the Gratz apparatus catalogue and Legacy Edition DVD’s. Kathryn has been blessed to work under 4 instructors who trained under Mr. Pilates himself. Recognized in the industry as one of the best instructors and practitioners, her desire is to pass her knowledge to others and have them share in the benefits of the method. She has a 2nd Dan Black Belt and is also Guild certified in Feldenkreis. www.americanbodytech.com
Brooke Siler spent a decade training under Joseph Pilates’ protégée and chosen successor Romana Kryzanowska. She opened her award-winning studio, re:AB Pilates, in 1997 and was quickly embraced by Hollywood’s A-list. Brooke has remained at the forefront of the Pilates community for nearly 15 years and remains passionate and authentic in her work.
Peter Fiasca, founder of Classical Pilates, Inc., began studying Pilates in 1988 and was certified by Romana Kryzanowska in 1998. In addition to creating the well respected, award-winning Classical Pilates Technique series of six DVD titles, Peter was invited by Romana to appear in her first commercial DVD project. Over the years, Peter has continued to study with 1st generation master teachers Jay Grimes and Kathy Grant, as well as other notable instructors in the field. Peter is devoted to helping preserve the traditional technique and spirit of Mr. Pilates’ original method.
Dana Santi began studying the Pilates method in 1996 in Evanston, IL. She studied under the direction of Juanita Lopez and was certified by Romana Kryzanowska in 1998. After her certification, Dana instructed at and managed The Pilates Studio of The Midwest at Hubbard Street in Chicago. In 2002, Dana opened The Pilates Core, Inc in LaGrange, IL. Dana and her instructors make every effort to keep Pilates pure and true to its original form. Dana met and studied with Jay Grimes in 2004 and is honored to borrow every ounce of inspiration and wisdom that he delivers. |
